Performance Information

A living legend returns to CMM. Richard Goode, the first American-born pianist ever to record the complete Beethoven piano sonatas, and now Distinguished Artist Faculty at Peabody Conservatory, brings his matchless wisdom and depth to the Linehan Hall stage. Gramophone magazine writes that every time audiences hear Goode, he surpasses their expectations. His program moves from the contrapuntal architecture of a Bach Partita through Brahms’ autumnal introspection to Debussy’s shimmering nocturnal worlds, culminating in Chopin’s sublime Barcarolle. This is a concert with a true patriarch of American piano, an experience not to be missed.

The Program

Bach: Partita in B-flat major, BWV 825

Brahms: Eight Pieces, Op. 76

Debussy: Selections from Préludes, Books I and II
